Off to the Park! – Anarchist Park Festival in the Rabet!

We want to get out of the anonymous neighbourhood, out of the grey walls and into the park! Come on April 30th from 12.00 to 6.00 p.m. to our small festival in the Rabet, in the east of Leipzig.

We want to make it possible to experience a colourful, solidary and diverse life in the middle of our neighbourhood. We want to offer space for what cannot be done within our own homes. A place for your ideas and ours.

We will provide drinks and food, music, seating and perhaps a lot more.

But it is also clear: all this lives from the initiative of many. Freedom lives from personal responsibility and action. Bring instruments, a paddling pool, games, spray cans or anything you can think of. Organise an information table for your grassroot initiatives, a workshop on something you are good at and want to pass on to other people. Cook or bake some (vegan) food and bring it to the (vegan) bring-along buffet. Treat other people as you would like to be treated. Don’t leave your rubbish lying around. Get involved!

If you are not actively spreading authoritarian content or are a supporter of authoritarian organising concepts, you are welcome to join us.

We hope that this year is just the beginning and that the idea of an anarchist park festival around May Day in Leipzig can become established.

There will be booths and stands:

  • Karl-Helga
  • Schlicht & Ergreifend/ Infos Mietshäusersyndikat + cake
  • Casablanca
  • Antirepression

  • Community bakery Ge:Bäck Leipzig / Halle
  • NoBorders/Grenzsquat

Introduction anarchism

Input from: Anarchistisches Netzwerk Dresden
Page: https://a-dresden.org/
When: 1 pm
Durration: 45 min+talk
Language: German

We would like to explore anarchism and its history with its different
currents and find out what anarchism actually is. What can an anarchist
society look like? Who was Pyotr Kropotkin? What are the differences
between anarchism and communism? In which areas of life do I encounter authority and how to face it?
This introductory lecture explores these questions. We are targeting
people who are unfamiliar with the topic, no pros please. In addition to
input from us, there will be space for questions and discussion.
Input will be in German, around 45min Input + talks about it. Questions
and discussion contributions can be in english also.

Workshop on redistribution as a political practice

Input from: Direct Support Leipzig
Durration: 2h
When: 3 pm
Language: German, English possible

Who would you share your money with? With whom not? What are the opportunities of financial redistribution? We want to address these and even more questions in the workshop and come together in self-reflection but also in an exchange about political practice.

Both of us, Janka and Mo, are active in Direct Support Leipzig, an initiative that redistributes money unbureaucratically and anonymously. Mo has also been living in a common economy for several years (i.e. Mo shares money with four other people).
